Streamline multi-entity finances with ITKnocks’ Business Central ERP implementation
ALT Hospitality Group, a growing hospitality conglomerate with six legal entities, embarked on a digital transformation journey to modernise its financial operations while bringing all its businesses under a unified ERP system. The previous legacy system lacked structural frameworks, analytical and reporting capabilities, and intercompany reconciliation processes which hindered financial transparency and operational efficiency.
Therefore, ALT Group partnered with ITKnocks to deploy Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central streamlining reporting across all entities, enhancing visibility, and supporting scalable growth.
ITKnocks worked closely with ALT Hospitality Group to design and deliver an out-of-the-box Microsoft solution, Dynamics 365 Business Central. This centralised, multi-entity ERP ecosystem included enterprise-grade financial configuration, sophisticated intercompany transaction frameworks, intelligent workflow automation, and advanced reporting and business intelligence enablement to ensure continuity and comparative analysis capabilities.
The project adhered rigorously to Microsoft’s Sure Step Methodology, employing a structured, phase-gated approach: initial discovery and requirements analysis, solution design and architecture, system configuration, migration, UAT/training, Go-live readiness, Go-live, and post-go live.
This ensured organisational change management, knowledge transfer, and a seamless transition from legacy system to the modern ERP platform while preserving data integrity and operational continuity. Maximising Microsoft’s out-of-the-box capabilities and adhering to platform best practices strategically limit the customiszations while protecting system integrity. The resulting solution offers enterprise-wide financial transparency, efficient cross-entity operations, strengthened compliance, and a scalable technological framework designed to grow with ALT Group’s expanding business needs.
ITKnocks replaced the fragmented legacy systems of the ALT Group with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, a centralised cloud-ready platform. This implementation standardised core processes, enhanced visibility, and developed a scalable environment.
A fully harmonised multi-entity structure was configured within Business Central to align charts of accounts, posting setups, and financial controls. Automated intercompany transaction frameworks were implemented that eliminated manual reconciliation and ensured accuracy and consistent financial governance across all six entities of the group.
A structured, high-integrity migration of three years of historical data was executed by cleansing, mapping, and validating the legacy data. This helped in delivering immediate continuity, enabling comparative reporting, and ensuring a complete audit trail from day on the new platform.
To streamline reconciliation processes across all entities, automated bank feed integration was enabled. Business Central eased the process of flowing financial data into the system, reducing manual entries, improving accuracy, and accelerating month-end close cycles.
Role-based approval workflows were set up, which strengthened the control, improved compliance, and reduced operational bottlenecks. This automation standardised the approval process for purchasing, payments, and journal entries. It also ensured transparency and auditability across all entities of the group.
A comprehensive user acceptance testing, role-based training, and hands-on go-live support by ITKnocks helped in the smooth transition for the Group from the legacy system. This empowered the users with confidence, maintained operational continuity, and reinforced strong adoption throughout the group.
