A recent project for a major financial client involved the successful integration of Dynamics 365 with Azure Blob Storage. This solution ensured compliance with stringent industry regulations and enabled the efficient handling of large volumes of data. Below are the three key outcomes achieved for the business.
Azure Blob Storage’s scalability allowed the client to manage data growth without additional infrastructure investments, saving $200K annually.
The integration provided advanced security features, including encryption, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Azure Active Directory (AAD), and Azure Defender for Storage. This significantly reduced data breach risks and helped the client meet high-security standards in the financial sector.
The client needed to store large documents, image, and video files linked to Dynamics 365 records. These files had to be securely stored in Azure Blob Storage within a Private Virtual Network (VNET).
There are multiple ways to connect Dynamics 365 to Azure Blob Storage, such as using the SDK or out-of-the-box Power Automate connectors. However, in some business environments, Dynamics 365 may not connect directly to Azure resources within a Virtual Network (VNET).
ITKnocks implemented custom APIs and Function Apps to securely connect Dynamics 365 and other systems with Azure Blob Storage, enabling the upload and download of documents within the VNET.

As part of the deduplication process, we also updated our reference table to reflect old-to-new key mappings. This allowed us to ensure that the correct GUIDs were assigned to the deduplicated records, maintaining the integrity of the data relationships in CRM.
